Instructions for authors

Periodicity

Continuous publication. Contributions are welcome all year round.

Responsibilities of the authors

1) Submit the article for review in accordance with the guidelines and publication requirements of the journal regarding: originality, that the text is unpublished, relevance.

2) Responsible for the accuracy, objectivity and veracity of the information contained in the article.

3) Refrain from publishing articles containing essentially the same research in other journals.

4) Present your findings honestly.

5) Indicate in the corresponding sections, the source of funding and relevant conflicts of interest should be indicated in the article.

6) Take care in the writing of articles, referring to the results of research done by others in an honest and balanced way, avoiding plagiarism and self-plagiarism, which is an unacceptable and reprehensible practice.

7) Submit only results that have not been previously published in other journals, taking care that these are not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

8) Where appropriate, obtain permissions for the use of databases or for the reproduction of material from other publications.

9) Properly cite the original sources of material being reproduced.

10) Respect the deadlines established by the Editorial Board for the submission of revisions and corrections.

11) When reporting on research involving human subjects, human materials, human tissues, human data (clinical trials or sensory testing), vulnerable groups and/or animals, please follow the instructions in the Ethics and Good Editorial Practice  section, as appropriate.

12) If the article reports on research involving human subjects, human materials, human tissues, human data (clinical trials or sensory testing), vulnerable groups, and/or animals, the research ethics (described in the Guide for Authors ) must be included in the Materials and Methods section, describing the procedures followed and their compliance with standards, and a document of approval by the appropriate bioethics committee must be included.

13) It is suggested that there should be no more than seven co-authors. If there are more than seven, the format should be used to describe in detail the contribution of each co-author based on the CRediT taxonomy.

14) The use of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in scientific writing must be disclosed as indicated in the section on Ethics and Good Editorial Practice and the Guide for Authors.

Guidelines for article submissions

Articles submitted to TECNOCIENCIA CHIHUAHUA must include the information described below through the Open Journal System (OJS) platform. Articles that are not submitted through this platform will not be accepted. The three types of contributions to the journal are: research articles, scientific notes and review articles.

      1. Application format

To apply for the article, download the template for the corresponding category of each article: research article (Research Article Format), scientific note (Scientific Note Format) and review article (Review Article Format). Additionally, this same file will be attached but without the names and affiliations of the authors (to be sent to review with the referees), Tables, Figures and Graphic Abstract, in separate files.

      2. Letter of presentation of the article

This letter will highlight the importance of the study and the scientific and technological contributions in the thematic areas of the journal. It must be filled in with the details of the author(s) and, in the case of manuscripts with two or more authors. The author who signs as the author responsible for the text should be identified, as well as the corresponding author. A format of the letter is attached in this (Authorship letter).

In addition, the Guidelines for Authors are attached as additional support, describing the specifications of each contribution, as well as details of the files to be downloaded when submitting articles, figures, images, and specifications for the preparation of tables.

Checklist for Preparing the Original Submission

1. Manuscript in Word version (Template for production)

2. Manuscript in Word version for review (No names of authors for refereeing)

3. Manuscript cover letter

4. Tables and figures: Photographs and images must be in TIFF format with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. Photographs, images, graphs, charts or tables must be included in the same file as the text and in a separate file.

5. Graphic Abstract in Power Point with photos related to the research, tables or figures that help to better visualize your research.

Once you have all these files, you will proceed to upload them to the journal's website (OJS platform). Once the submission is complete, you will receive an email notification of receipt, and you will must follow all communications through the platform until you receive an editorial decision.

Checking Before Sending

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submission meets all of the following requirements. These are specified in the templates provided by the journal (depending on the type of submission) for downloading manuscripts for review. Submissions that do not comply with these guidelines will be returned to the authors.

1) The manuscript conforms to the general format in terms of font type and size, length, and format of headings and subheadings.

2) The sections of the manuscript conform to the journal format.

3) Authors should include the full name of their working institution in the manuscript (Production Template).

4) Authors must blind all author and affiliation information in the manuscript (template for review) so that it can be peer reviewed. For this purpose, the instructions for ensuring anonymous peer review must be followed.

5) Tables and figures included in the manuscript are supplementary and follow the format.

6) The units of measurement used are in accordance with the international system.

7) The text conforms to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the journal's Guidelines for Authors.

8) The manuscript is NOT more than 10% similar to other published work (see Ethics and Good Editorial Practice).
