About the Journal

Focus and scope

TECNOCIENCIA CHIHUAHUA is a multidisciplinary journal that will be PUBLISHED CONTINUALLY from 2020. The articles, once accepted by the peer review process and edited, will be published online continuously. The articles will be integrated into an annual volume consisting of three issues, to be published from January 1 to December 31 each year.

TECNOCIENCIA CHIHUAHUA publishes scientific articles and notes, as well as original and unpublished reviews, in English and Spanish, in open access electronic format, double-blinded by at least three referees specialised in the field.

The aim of TECNOCIENCIA CHIHUAHUA is to disseminate the results and advances of original and unpublished research in the fields of Food, Biology, Health, Agriculture, Physical Culture, Engineering and Technology, Chemistry and Natural Resources to researchers, academics, students and the general public with a scientific interest.

The journal adheres to the Declaration of San Francisco through DORA (Declaration on Research Assessment) and is indexed in various international indexes such as DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) and MIAR (Matrix of Information for the Analysis of Journals), Latindex 2.0 where it meets 38 of the 38 criteria, Periodicals, LatinREV and in Academic Networks such as Google Scholar and Academia. The journal has the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) through the international organisation Crossref.

Peer review process

The manuscripts received by TECNOCIENCIA CHIHUAHUA, must be original and unpublished, of a scientific and/or technological nature, written in a language accessible to readers with a scientific interest, following the principles of precision, logic and clarity, and they will be subject to peer review, anonymous, under the modality of double-blind review.

Authors' responsibilities

Authors submitting articles for peer review and possible publication must send the complete final version of the article as specified in the article submission requirements section. Manuscripts submitted to TECNOCIENCIA CHIHUAHUA should not be submitted in part or in full to other journals at the same time.

The Editorial Team will check that the submission meets all submission requirements, including checking it against the Editorial Board-approved plagiarism detection tool (iThenticate), before submitting it for review.

Open access policy

The journal TECNOCIENCIA CHIHUAHUA is managed under the Diamond Open Access model, which provides immediate open access to its content, with the principle of offering the public free access to original and unpublished scientific information and up-to-date critical reviews that promote a greater global exchange of knowledge, thus complying with the DOAJ Open Access policy.

To this end, the journal recognizes the ownership of the manuscript by the author, who retains his or her rights as the author of the manuscript and, in turn, assigns to the journal the rights to disseminate the manuscript.

Articles published in TECNOCIENCIA CHIHUAHUA are distributed under the Creative Commons Atribución-NoComercial 4.0 Internacional License, which permits sharing (copying and redistributing the material in any medium or format) and adaptation (remixing, transforming and building upon the material), provided that it is not for commercial purposes and that the authors and the journal are credited.

In addition to giving proper credit, you must provide a link to the licence and indicate if changes have been made. The user may not use legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from doing what the licence allows.

Preservation policy

Open Journal Systems supports the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system, which guarantees a permanent and secure archive for TECNOCIENCIA CHIHUAHUA journal. LOCKSS is an open source programme developed by the Stanford University Library that allows libraries to preserve selected web journals by periodically searching registered journals to collect and archive newly published content. Each archive is continuously validated against records from other libraries, so that any damaged or lost content can be restored using those records or the journal itself.

TECNOCIENCIA CHIHUAHUA also digitally preserves all the documents it publishes, which remain in the custody of the editorial team. Its website and all its contents are backed up and protected on the server managed by the Information Technology Coordination of the Autonomous University of Chihuahua.

Interoperability

The journal TECNOCIENCIA CHIHUAHUA has the URL https://revistascientificas.uach.mx/index.php/tecnociencia/management/settings/website where it is possible to submit metadata via OAI-PMH in Dublin Core format, MODS 3.4 metadata, OpenURL 1.0 metadata.

Plagiarism detection

The documents submitted for publication will be checked using the Ithenticate anti-plagiarism software, so authors are advised to check the originality of their manuscripts before submitting them to TECNOCIENCIA CHIHUAHUA. The percentage of similarity with other papers should be less than 10 %. If this percentage is exceeded, the manuscript will not be submitted for review and will be returned to the author. In case of recurrence, the author will be denied the right to publish in this journal.

Charging policy

TECNOCIENCIA CHIHUAHUA is free of charge and funded by the Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua. Authors are requested to register with the journal for access and authorship statistics.

The average time between receipt of the paper and the first response from the referees is four weeks. The estimated time for publication of accepted papers is three months, depending on the number of papers awaiting publication.
