About the Editorial Board

The editorial board of TECNOCIENCIA CHIHUAHUA is structured with editors with different roles and expertise, covering all aspects of the journal's scope. This ensures that all manuscripts submitted to the journal are properly evaluated by editors with expertise in the specific field of the manuscript topic.

There are three levels of Editors:

Editor-in-Chief: Directs and appoints the members of the Editorial Board, guides the strategy and vision of the journal, establishes the policy of the journal and also acts as a Scientific Editor. The Editor-in-Chief must have a prestigious academic career at national and international level and is appointed by the President of the UACH Committee for Scientific Dissemination and Communication.

Associate Editors: review submitted manuscripts in their general area of expertise (Food, Biology, Health, Agriculture, Physical Culture, Engineering and Technology, Chemistry, and Natural Resources), make immediate decisions on whether manuscripts submitted for publication should be considered for further review, assign Section Editors with more specific expertise, make final decisions on all submitted manuscripts, and assist the Editor-in-Chief with scope refinement and other strategic and policy decisions. New Associate Editors are generally recruited from the ranks of Scientific Committee Editors who have a track record of providing detailed, appropriate, and critical reviews for the journal.

Editors of the Scientific Committee: Evaluate submissions assigned to them as Section Editors, sometimes recommending rejection without further review; in most cases they identify and invite suitable reviewers with appropriate expertise and no conflicts of interest, with the aim of securing at least three high-quality (detailed and constructively critical) reviews. After peer review, they make recommendations and add their own evaluative comments. They provide valuable feedback to the Editorial Team and the Editor-in-Chief on processes, scope and strategy. The new Editors of the Scientific Committee are usually researchers from different HIE's with national and international recognition.

Description of the profile and of the tasks to be carried out by the members of the Scientific Committee (Section Editor)

- If they are assigned as Section Editors, they will be the first reviewers of the manuscript. If it does not meet the journal's quality standards, they will reject it; if it needs changes, they will ask the corresponding author to make them. If it meets the journal's quality standards, it will be passed on for peer review.

- The Section Editor will appoint at least three reviewers and continue the review process after this initial review is completed.

- The Section Editor's name will appear on the front page of the article when it is published.

- Their commitment is to contribute to the journal at least six times a year, either as a section editor, a proofreader, or as a reviewer.

- They promote the journal in their academic and social networks. For example, they encourage the submission of manuscripts.

- All journal editors are expected to attend regular Editorial Board meetings and to share their views on the journals with the staff and the Editor-in-Chief.

- The term of office for Editors of the Scientific Committee is limited to two years.
