Abstract

Objective. To know the gross motor performance of boys and girls in elementary school in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua. Procedure. In a non-random way, the sample was made up of a total of 107 students (boys and girls) of basic primary education, whose ages ranged between 6 and 12 years of age. Gross motor performance was assessed using the Test of Gross Motor Development (TGMD-2) Results. The assessments of gross motor skills of primary school students show that more than 90% of the children evaluated present a "poor" performance in their gross motor skills, likewise it is indicated that there are no significant differences between men and women or by age groups. Conclusions. The low results in gross motor skills of this research represent an area of ​​opportunity for its development in primary school children, so that the educational field becomes an important means that benefits the multilateral development of the child.
