Así que quieren crear una nueva revista científica, ¿para qué?

En esta primera entrega de la sección Escuela de editores discutimos distintas razones que pueden motivar el lanzamiento de una nueva revista científica. Partimos del cuestionamiento ¿para qué queremos fundar una nueva revista? En su respuesta empezamos a encontrar que puede haber razones correctas y erróneas para crear una nueva revista y que, de tratarse de una revista institucional podríamos encontrar que el poco conocimiento que tienen algunos de lo que es y lo que implica una revista científica puede jugar en contra de tal proyecto, posiblemente condenándolo al fracaso. Adicionalmente, presentamos los resultados de una revisión bibliográfica, principalmente de fuentes que tratan sobre la publicación de 28 revistas específicas, que nos permiten discutir las distintas cuestiones que dificultan crear revistas, las razones por las cuales podemos crear una nueva revista científica y, a manera de conclusión, los primeros pasos para lanzar una nueva revista.
