Resumen
The History Workshop (1967-1994) fue un proyecto iniciado en la década de los sesenta por el historiador inglés Raphael Samuel, como una serie de talleres para integrar a la producción histórica a adultos de la clase trabajadora, bajo el ideal de hacer de la historia un bien público, colaborativo y accesible para públicos fuera de la academia. En este artículo, se presenta una semblanza del proyecto, con la intención de darlo a conocer entre historiadores de habla hispana, y se sostiene que este taller fue un antecedente indispensable para las posturas historiográficas, que hasta el día de hoy, lidian con encontrar el equilibrio entre la producción académica clásica, y la necesidad de sociabilizar el conocimiento histórico de una manera más general, para mantener a la historia como una disciplina socialmente relevante y, al resultado de su labor, como un bien público de acceso libre y claro para públicos no especializados.
