The Rabbiteye blueberry (Vaccinium ashei Reade) has become an excellent alternative to diversify the array of fruits produced in Mexico; unfortunately, its recent introduction is accompanied by scarce information in its agronomic management, highlighting the lack of knowledge of the nutritional demands of the crop. With the objective of knowing the nutritional dynamics in the leaves and fruits during their different stages of development, and to identify the critical stages of the different nutrient in a rabbiteye blueberry plantation located in Zacatlan, Puebla, samples of leaves and fruits were collected in five fruit developmental phases: green fruit (G), fruit changing from green to pink (G-P), beginning of ripening (fruit from pink to red, P-R), ripening (fruit from red to blue, R-B) and mature fruit (blue, B). Macro and micronutrient concentration were determined. In the leaves, the concentration of all the elements exhibited two peaks, one in the stage of green fruit and the other when the fruit reached maturity (blue fruit). The order of nutrient concentration in the leaves was: N>Ca>K>Mg>P>Fe>Mn>B>Zn. In the fruits, nutrient concentration exhibited a decrease as maturity was reached. The order of nutritional concentration in the fruits was: N>K>Ca>Mg>P>Zn>B>Mn>Fe. These results suggest that the higher nutritional demand occur in the G and the G-P phases; therefore, the elements must be supplied in blooming, prior to the development of the fruit to ensure a satisfactory production and fruit quality.
