Beef quality and safety

Abstract

Concern about food safety and security is an important issue for consumers, so there must be an interest in ensuring that production practices guarantee the final quality of the product and meet market expectations. Food safety in a feedlot involves attention to and monitoring of quality along the entire chain from farm to consumer. The food chain involves feed manufacturers, farmers, ranchers, meat processors, authorities and consumers. Each must take responsibility for the role they play in obtaining a quality beef product to offer their respective markets.
