This article pretends to show the importance of the process technology on the economic results of the manufacturing industry companies, particularly on the added value per worker. It is supported on a survey made in a random stratified sample on 125 manufacturing firms located in Chihuahua City, Mexico, in 2003 and 2004. It was identified the relations between the investment on technological equipment and the technological degree of the firm and between the last and the economic added value. It was made a descriptive analysis of the chosen variables and a linear regression analysis that allows to probe the hypothesis showing that: (1) the investments on administrative equipment is the variable that has the higher weight (ß = 0.456, P<0.01), on the determination of the technological degree and (2) the administrative process technology is the variable that has the higher weight (ß = 0.367, P<0.01), on the determination of the added value per worker. This positive significative enchainment between the investment on equipments for the administrative process, the technological degree of the process and the added value by worker, suggest a positive feedback that contribute to the firm growing and the consequents scale economies by the productivity increase.
