Introduction: Guillain Barré syndrome (GBS), an acute demyelinating inflammatory radiculopathy of peripheral nerves, causes motor and sensory limitations, symmetrically and bilaterally. Objective: To describe the physiotherapy intervention in a 12-year-old female patient with sequelae of an AMAN variant of GBS. Methodology: Case report presented during the social service of an intern of the degree in Physical Therapy of the Autonomous University of Chihuahua, in the Physiotherapy Clinic of the University of Taquari Valley/Lajeado/Brazil. The physiotherapeutic assessment was carried out, collecting personal data, medical diagnosis, disease progression, family history, pathological and non-pathological, and the analysis of complementary examinations. The physical examination analyzed gait, posture, balance, mobility, strength, sensitivity, and deep tendon reflexes. The approach consisted of 10 weekly one-hour sessions, developing balance, mobility and strengthening work, mainly of the trunk and lower limbs, as well as body awareness and proprioception training. Results: An increase was obtained in calf measurements, muscle strength, and balance, as well as normalization of sensitivity and posture. Conclusion: Physiotherapeutic assessment and intervention, from the acute phase, are essential for the development of an effective treatment of the sequelae of GDS.
