Modelos de Atención a la Discapacidad en Instituciones del Municipio de Chihuahua

The following investigation is a study in which an analysis of the type of service of different government institutions and civil associations in the municipality of Chihuahua that focus of the disabilities, specially direct on physical activity, adapted sports, physical rehabilitation, sports initiation and education from a community perspective. The objective is to identify under which care models these institutions provide their service and if a person receive what is being offered. Some of the models analyzed are the medical-rehabilitation model, the social model, charitable assistance, among others, including the historical context of the conception of disability. The methodology used is a qualitative study with a phenomenological approach and the information is retrieved through in-depth interviews with personnel from the institutions such as therapists, directors, physical activators or founders of the institutions. The information was analyzed through the Atlas ti program and it was possible to observe that each institution has its own intervention model impacting the quality of life of the person.
