Observational study of the goals by areas of the field of play of the Copa América of Beach Soccer 2023

Abstract

Beach football it was originated in Brazil in the late 1980s and early 1990s, it is a sport that has experimented a constant growth, it has its unique and specific characteristics that offer a great show. Objective: The present study was to analyze from which zones goals were scored from each national team that participated in the copa america beach football tournament 2023, from which zone were strongest, also these were divided in different zones. Methods: Through observation of 27 matches, in which data was collected from YouTube official channel of Copa América through the Highlights and the official Website of the copa américa (Conmebol, https://copaamerica.com/ediciones/ca-playa-2023/). The Delphi method was implemented through experts with 8 persons from the beach football tournament, in which table 1 was elaborated.  Resutls: These results highlighted Brazil as the team with more goals with a total of 55, most of them (30) coming from zone 4 and (24) from the zone 3 concluding that it has great scorers from different field zones that its players ended up in the contrary zones to score.  Ecuador, on the other hand, its strength came from the central zone with a total of 11 goals. Conclusions: Within the beach football matches different situations were present to score, due to the different interactions of the tactical, technical, physical and psychological factors that happen during the match.
