Efficiency in Scientific Productivity of researchers at the Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua

Abstract

One of the main objectives of Higher Education Institutions (IES) is scientific production, not only because it is a fundamental contribution to the development and welfare of society, but also an important indicator of quality. Scientific productivity is a determining factor for the promotion, visibility and internationalization of the educational institution, providing a comprehensive education and developing high performance students. The objective of the present study was to analyze the Efficiency in Scientific Productivity of university researchers at the Autonomous University of Chihuahua. There are several factors that can influence the efficiency of scientific productivity such as the quality and quantity of researchers, access to research funding, infrastructure and existence of a research culture, and strategies for efficiency in scientific productivity are identified such as investment in the training of researchers and governments that actively participate in the financing of research, development and innovation (I&D&i) projects. A correct systematization for the management of scientific research allows researchers to carry out administrative procedures, manage their projects electronically and access updated information on funding calls, ongoing projects, research results and other areas of interest. The systems developed by the University of Cambridge, Horizon 2020, which is a European Commission platform for research and innovation management, and ResearchGate, were used as a basis for the design or improvement.
