Abstract

The work Historians: a community of knowledge. México, 1903-1955 by Jesús Iván Mora Muro questions the emergence and development of the historical discipline in Mexico, as well as a characterization of what he would identify as a historiographic field. The book, based on his doctoral thesis, analyzes the institutional and professional evolution of Mexican historians during the first half of the 20th century. In this work Mora Muro also examines the dynamics, positions and debates of historians and intellectuals, highlighting the importance of institutional spaces during this process. Likewise, the text emphasizes the relevance of commemorative events, discussions and publications in the consolidation of this community of knowledge.
