Following requests for access to information in 2013 and 2014, the Ministry of the Interior classified the information of private penitentiary service´s contracts as “reserved.” This stipulation isn´t justified by social interest. Access to the financial information of its administrative management must be allowed, given the public interest in compliance with the principles of the penitentiary system. To be able to analyse: living conditions, estimated daily maintenance costs, or know if the price is sufficient, justified, or can be improved. Resources are low; so waste and mismanagement are intolerable.
