Comparación entre diferentes métodos de pretratamiento para la producción de azúcares fermentables a partir de rastrojo de amaranto

Los residuos agroindustriales adquieren cada vez mayor importancia por su utilización en diversos procesos fermentativos, incluyendo la producción de sustancias con actividad biológica de valor industrial. Los azúcares fermentables (AF) constituyen un grupo de compuestos clave para estos procesos. Sin embargo, se deben llevar a cabo una serie de pasos para su liberación. El pretratamiento es un paso crucial para la obtención de estos compuestos. Por ello, el objetivo de este trabajo de investigación fue establecer un método adecuado para la deslignificación del rastrojo de amaranto (RA) y la posterior producción de AF. Se evaluaron cinco pretratamientos: físico (I. vapor y II. ultrasonido), químico (III. NaOH 3.5 N) y combinado (IV. NaOH 3.5 N + vapor y V. NaOH (2, 2.5, 3, 3.5 N) + ultrasonido). Se utilizó el método del ácido 3,5 dinitrosalicílico (DNS) para azúcares reductores y así determinar la concentración de AF, lo que indicaría la degradación de la lignocelulosa. Esto fue corroborado mediante análisis FTIR. Los métodos que obtuvieron mayor concentración de AF fueron el II y el combinado V (3.5 N NaOH). Una vez definido el método de pretratamiento, se realizó el proceso de sacarificación mediante hidrólisis enzimática convencional e hidrólisis asistida por ultrasonidos, siendo esta última la que mostró mayor eficiencia.
