ABSTRACT
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a life condition characterized by deficits in areas of social interaction, communication and behavior or conduct. Objective: In this research, a pilot intervention of a psychomotor program was carried out in a young person with autism spectrum disorder to improve daily living skills; in turn, a late intervention proposal was created based on the characteristics of people with Autism Spectrum Disorder who have started a psychomotricity intervention late, where strategies for teaching - learning life skills are provided daily. Method: A pre and post measurement of the capacities for independence and participation in occupational and self-care activities was carried out through the Vineland Social Maturation Scale. Results: Through the intervention with the program, the areas of self-dressing and occupation are favored. Conclusion: comprehensive work and daily stimulation by the main caregivers, who are parents and teachers, can improve the independence and quality of life of people with ASD who have not been exposed in early interventions.
