Abstract

Throughout history, literature as an art form that reflects human events has been a way of knowing the nature of being. In it, it is possible to identify different functions that come from the communicative and discursive interaction between the author and the reader. Currently there is no doubt that literature has, in addition to aesthetic functions, social and cultural functions derived from the author's ability to represent his point of view through the language used in the oeuvre. In this case, the artistic work is capable of consolidating, transforming, and adapting beliefs or social ideas, but also of generating new knowledge or values that can form part of the cultural base of the peoples.
