Abstract

This work aims to analyze the relationship between Spinoza's theory of affections and the effects of gunas on matter, in relation to the influence and management of passions, based on the study of the Ethics and the Bhagavad-gītā. Through this analysis, common aspects as well as differences underlying their respective philosophies are evident, aiming to achieve a broader understanding of philosophical endeavors by appreciating different approaches to fundamental topics in the field of ethics in both East and West.
