Una visión simbólica y neohistoricista de El luto humano

This paper will approach the way in which José Revueltas, through the use of poetic language and symbolism, takes a historical fact and fictionalizes it in order to create El luto humano; through a symbolic and neohistoric reading, it is found that the text proposes a way to reflect on the nature of the Mexicaness, its origins, wounds and its failures, and by doing so it takes it to a new ideal: the death of the identity of the Mexican as we know, giving way to the resurgence of a new Mexicaness, lead by equity, social justice and redemption.
