Abstract

When asking about human beings’ technical nature it can lead, sooner or later, to a,
only from a superficial level, paradoxical answer: it is natural to transform not only the
environment, but also the body into something more artificial. This ontological idea supports
the transhumanist’s standpoints in regards to the natural processes and organic entities that
are looking for even wider technological interventions. Despite the wellbeing promises that
could be expected, there’s also concern for the irreversible and dehumanizing consequences
these might bring. This essay reflects upon this issue and sets on a scale the pros and cons
from a standpoint which allows for a critical analysis.
