About the Journal

Background

In 2012, Academic Group CA-UACH-111 History and Historiography of Education, of the University of Chihuahua, launched the first issue of the collection of books Debates por la Historia, in order to create a space for publishing academic products of professors and graduate students of the Faculty of Philosophy and Writing Arts. Over time, authors from national and international educational institutions have been incorporated, sharing their work in the 5 annual volumes published before 2018.

Migration of the printed book to the digital format happened during 2018, making it an open access electronic scientific journal, with an ISSN number: 2594-2956 (International Standard Serial Number), which would gradually be integrated into the most renowned databases, thereby improving the visibility and impact of published papers.

Scope and Themes

Debates por la Historia is a biannual electronic journal specializing in Education History topics, with an emphasis on studies of ideas, processes, institutions and subjects of education. It aims to publish original and unpublished papers and reviews in Spanish, English, French and Polish, which must be total or partial results of research related to the field, as well as theoretical and methodological reflections that contribute to the discussion and generation of knowledge at the regional, national, and international levels.

Debates por la Historia is edited and published by Academic Group CA-UACH-111. History and Historiography of Education, part of the Secretariat of Research and Graduate Programs of the Faculty of Philosophy and Writing Arts of the University of Chihuahua, Mexico. As an editorial group, it intends to contribute to dialog and debate, as well as to free access to scientific production in the social sciences, emphatically within the field of Education and its historical and historiographic aspects.
