Métodos de clasificación de datos en SIG para estimar recarga de agua subterránea en México

Este estudio evaluó cinco métodos de clasificación de datos en ArcMap 10.5 para analizar la recarga media anual de agua subterránea en trece regiones hidrológico-administrativas de México. Los datos de recarga (hm³/año) fueron obtenidos del Geoportal de CONABIO (2008) y normalizados mediante recarga específica (mm/año) para permitir comparaciones entre regiones de diferente tamaño. El análisis se basó en intervalo, clase y rango. Se generaron mapas coropléticos aplicando intervalos iguales, frecuencias iguales/cuantiles, clasificación manual, intervalos naturales/Jenks e intervalos geométricos, con un máximo de cinco clases. Los resultados evidenciaron diferencias en la representación espacial: los intervalos iguales simplificaron la interpretación (cada clase abarca 4,816 hm³/año), pero no reflejaron la concentración de datos bajos; los cuantiles distribuyeron uniformemente los valores, aunque agruparon datos heterogéneos (e.g. 7,566 y 25,316 hm³/año); la clasificación manual, sacrificó el detalle intermedio y muestra solo dos intervalos grandes (8,000 y 18,000 hm³/año); los intervalos naturales/Jenks y geométricos representaron con mayor precisión la variabilidad y datos sesgados. Se identificaron zonas de alta recarga (Península de Yucatán: 213.2 mm/año) y baja (Baja California: 8.4 mm/año). El trabajo concluye que no existe un método ideal único; la elección depende de los objetivos, la naturaleza de los datos y la audiencia. La aplicación combinada de varios métodos mejora la interpretación y apoya una gestión hídrica más informada.
