A total of 6 adult patients with a clinical diagnosis of AIDS were evaluated, who were divided into an experimental group who participated in the physical exercise program for 3 months, 3 times a week at moderate intensity, and a control group. Results: The main result is observed in the increase in the physical capacities of the experimental group, without modifications in body composition and a variation in psychosocial aspects without an increase in CD4 cell count.
Conclusions: A physical exercise program for AIDS patients has a positive influence on physical abilities, anxiety, and depression, but not on body composition or CD4 levels.
