Índice Masa Corporal y Circunferencia de Cintura en policías de seguridad de la ciudad de Chihuahua

Since the last decade of the 20th century, obesity has been considered a public health problem in Mexico. objective: to analyze the anthropometric measurements in a sample of detectives from the public security secretariat of the state of Chihuahua, to determine the body mass index. Method: 36 detectives participated in the study, 8 women (16%) and 43 men (84%), body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference were evaluated. Results: 88% of men have obesity and overweight in BMI, however, 56% are in relation to the normal waist and in women, 88% are in levels of overweight and obesity in BMI and the risk varies. high and very high, which is 63%. Conclusions: Detectives present high levels of obesity and overweight in both men and women.
