Summary
Basketball is a sports activity that has evolved the most in recent years considering its sports development and the preferences of the population, this research aims to develop a diagnosis of the perception of basketball at the national level. The study is qualitative descriptive for which five basketball specialists who were or have been were interviewed: presidents of the basketball federation, national team coaches, national team players and league presidents. The interviews were semi-structured and were conducted through the Zoom platform. For the qualitative analysis, the statements of the specialists were reviewed and fragments were extracted that had some relationship with some aspects of (Perception, Problems, Solution Proposals, Point of view on a strategic plan), through logical and semantic associations between the aspects of basketball and the comments, eleven indicators were obtained, obtaining as results that the administrative crisis and the personal interests of managers have caused a lack of interest and lag in the development of children and young people. In conclusion, they mention that carrying out an administrative restructuring, the creation of sports initiation schools that, in turn, certify coaches.
