Emotional intelligence (EI) plays a crucial role in job performance, and its management can significantly vary among different generations. Younger generations such as millennials and centennials often exhibit greater awareness of the importance of EI particularly regarding well-being and job satisfaction. Conversely, older generations like baby boomers and Generation X may approach emotion management differently based on their experiences and the work context they were raised in.
The objective of this study is to identify the influence that emotional intelligence has on job performance within organizations while considering how varying generational mindsets affect organizational performance and development. The key question posed is: Is the maximization of labor outcomes influenced by the different intelligences present within the organization’s members?
This article utilized specific methodological criteria for its development: qualitative nature with basic research type and descriptive scope; documentary method; non-experimental design focusing on emotional intelligence across different generations along with their strategies and benefits to both the organization and human talent.
