Statistical indicators are fundamental for the development of public policies that help countries meet quality standards and improve their economy. In Higher Education (HE), these indicators are key to training professionals who impact organizational productivity and scientific development. This essay aims to conduct a comparative analysis of indicators such as: cost per student, supply and demand for programs, per capita income of professionals and educators, evaluation systems, installed capacity, and scientific research between Mexico and the United Kingdom (UK). Strategies that Mexico could adopt to strengthen its HE system are proposed. Data from government and non-government sources (2015 to 2024) show that, compared to the UK, Mexico presents opportunities in investment, infrastructure, scientific production, and international collaboration, while its strengths lie in accessibility and tuition costs. It is recommended to improve technological infrastructure, promote multidisciplinary research, establish partnerships with the productive sector, increase professor’s salaries and optimize administrative management.
