Review Process

  • Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s OJS platform, following prior registration of the authors.
  • The Editor-in-Chief will conduct an initial evaluation of each manuscript based on its alignment with the scope and editorial line of Economicus Journal of Business and Economics Insights (JBEI). If the manuscript meets these criteria, the Editor will proceed with a second evaluation considering the scientific interest and validity of the article and its methodology, the relevance of the content, the interest of the topic for readers, and the clarity and comprehensibility of the article.
  • This initial assessment will be carried out within the Editorial Committee of the journal and will take between two and four weeks (15 to 30 days) from the date of receipt of the manuscript. If the manuscript does not meet the required criteria, a justified response will be sent to the corresponding author.
  • As part of its plagiarism prevention policy, Economicus JBEI reserves the right to review submitted manuscripts using anti-plagiarism software. In addition, manuscripts will be evaluated considering the 12 most frequent forms of “non-original” material identified by © Turnitin, LLC. https://www.turnitin.com/es/infographics/prevencion-de-plagio.

  • If any of the aforementioned practices are detected, or if the manuscript shows a similarity percentage greater than 10%, it will be rejected for publication.

  • Economicus JBEI applies an external peer‑review system under the double‑blind methodology, following the publication standards of the American Psychological Association (APA). This system guarantees authors an objective, impartial, and transparent review process, facilitating the journal’s inclusion in international databases, repositories, and reference indexes.

  • If the manuscript meets the requirements to be sent for peer review, the Editor-in-Chief will forward it to the Section Associate Editor, who will be responsible for assigning at least two reviewers without conflicts of interest and with expertise in the subject matter. Economicus JBEI follows a strict double-blind peer review process, in which manuscripts are anonymized to ensure that the identities of the authors are not disclosed. Reviewer identities are also protected, guaranteeing the impartiality of the process.

  • Reviewers will evaluate the manuscript using the rubric for scientific articles, designed and approved by the Editorial Committee of Economicus JBEI. The maximum period for completing the evaluation will be four weeks (30 days), counted from the date of acceptance of the review.
  • Reviewers will submit their recommendations and reports to the Section Associate Editor, providing general comments to the Editor and both general and specific comments to the authors. Comments intended to help authors improve their work will be sent anonymously (even if the manuscript is not accepted). Based on the reports received, the Editor will decide whether to accept or reject the manuscript. This decision will be communicated to the authors, indicating whether the work is rejected, accepted, or accepted with revisions, and including the anonymous reviewers’ comments.
  • In the case of acceptance with revisions, the authors must implement the suggested changes or provide a justified explanation if they choose not to do so. The corresponding author must submit the revised version of the manuscript, clearly identifying the changes made (using a different font color or underlining). Additionally, a response letter to the reviewers must be attached, explaining how each observation was addressed and discussing, if necessary, the reviewers’ suggestions or criticisms. Authors will have approximately three weeks (15 business days) to make the revisions. Failure to respond within this period will be interpreted as a lack of interest in continuing the publication process, and any editorial commitment between the parties will be considered terminated, unless an extension is requested in due time by the corresponding author.
  • Revised manuscripts may be subject to a new round of peer review, if deemed necessary by the Section Associate Editor. The final decision on acceptance for publication rests with the Editorial Committee.
  • Submission of manuscripts does not imply any obligation on the part of the Editorial Committee of Economicus JBEI to proceed with their publication.
  • The peer review process will never exceed sixty (60) days; this period is reserved exclusively for articles in which controversy arises among reviewers regarding their suitability, requiring the intervention of a third reviewer for resolution.
  • All unforeseen cases will be resolved by the Editorial Committee, and its decisions shall be final.
