She Writing with the Remains: Intersemioticity, Body, and Essay in Nuestra gloria los escombros by Lucía Calderas

Abstract

This paper analyzes Nuestra gloria los escombros (2025) by Lucía Calderas as intersemiotic essay that exceeds traditional distinctions between narrative and essay. The work interwines writing, visuality and the body within a poetics of ruin, where textual, visual, and material fragments generate meaning through their interaction. Trough elements such as strikethrough, typographic arrangement, and a dental structured composition, Calderas proposes a non-liner reading that actives the reader´s itersemiotic competence. The analysis argues  that intersemioticity operates as a space or friction between sign systems, producing
