Hybridization of Television Formats and Genres: Critical Analysis of the Series La Casa de las Flores.

Abstract

In this essay, the hybridization of formats generated by new productions linked to streaming platforms, which respond to the changing consumption habits of viewers, is analyzed. The first season of the series La Casa de las Flores (Season one), an original production by Netflix, is thoroughly explored, delving into the clear relationship between the scripts, episode titles, and some classical myths, which stand out for the references present in different episodes. Ultimately, it is concluded that there is a latent condition of hybridization between formats and genres, becoming increasingly recurrent in this type of production, although not always evident to the general audience.
