Abstract

This article presents an approach to geek and otaku culture in Ciudad Juárez through an ethnographic strategy of participant observation carried out in the "Otaku Bazaar". The beginnings of the bazaar in the city are explored, as well as the forms of relationship between the attending subjects through rituality in space and embodied expressions in the subjects. They also seek to explain the elements of distinction with others and the generation of community through the elements of space, perceptions, roles, rituals and common purposes.
