Digital Preservation Policy
Economicus Journal of Business and Economics Insights (JBEI), through its Editorial Committee, has established digital preservation methods to ensure the intellectual content of electronic archive documents is maintained over long periods, preserving their integrity, authenticity, unalterability, originality, reliability, and accessibility for each officially published information resource.
Economicus JBEI establishes digital preservation as a responsibility and commitment of all personnel involved in its editorial management.
Information Backup
To guarantee the preservation of information, the Editorial Committee will carry out the task of ensuring the documents are completely stored in its own institutional infrastructure, with the aim of ensuring both the access and the long-term preservation of the content.
To back up the information stored in the journal infrastructure, the Editorial Committee will carry out a backup activity plan that covers the next aspects:
An integrated backup per semester from the journal to physical media should be stored in a different geographic location than the current servers (main or surveyed).
In addition to the assurance of an integration of a digital preservation model that includes:
- The generation of a unique bit string for each journal document, according to the good international practices associated with a checksum.
- The generation of a report that notifies the administrator of each content or informatics document structure disturbance.
- The generation of multiple document copies on at least two additional locations, one of which must be an external system (for example, LOCKSS).
- An inventory system implementation that does not allow the generation of altered copies generation due to a wrong documentation checksum, and allows restore copies without errors to replace imperfect copies.
